“A handkerchief can never be
put in another pocket after it has been in one pocket. I don't walk under
ladders. I have items of clothing that are lucky for me. That rotates, but I am
luck-oriented”.
I had the opportunity to talk to Yvonne on the Yvonne Kandi Radio Show about Happy Hanky handkerchiefs. Have a listen….(about 15 minutes 22 seconds into the broadcast)…
I'm a huge fan of cloth handkerchiefs for many of the obvious reasons - environmental, of course; definitely because they feel better than paper on my nose; but also, um, because they're pretty. I have many of my grandmother's, and great grandmother's, and lots that I've picked up along the way thrifting. I love the sweet, beautiful details that have been hand-stitched onto many of them. So much work that goes into some of them, really.
I love the way in which crafting things for 'home' can truly impact the most basic, simple and mundane everyday moments - adding just a bit of comfort in the form of something handmade.
